Honda Aircraft Company to Expand Operations and Build New Jet in North Carolina
North Carolina Governor Mike Easley announced on February 9, 2007, that Honda Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, will expand its Greensboro operations and build its new HondaJet, an innovative, lightweight, private business jet, at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Guilford County. The company will invest $100 million and will create 283 new jobs that pay an average salary of about $70,000 per year.
Chris Lloyd with the McGuireWoods Consulting Business Expansion team led the economic incentives negotiations for Honda Aircraft, which was awarded a 12-year Job Development Investment Grant from the state's Economic Investment Committee.
