13. Virginia Beach seeks competing PPEA proposals
PUBLIC NOTICE The City of Virginia Beach hereby provides
notice of acceptance for further review of an "Unsolicited
Proposal" pursuant to the Public-Private Education
Facilities and Infrastructure Act of 2002 (PPEA). The City
has determined to accept this "Unsolicited Proposal" for
conceptual phase consideration and in accordance with the
PPEA will accept competing proposals for consideration that
comply with the PPEA and the procedures adopted by the City.
The proposed qualifying project is described as a: City of
Virginia Beach Department of Public Utilities Sanitary Sewer
Pump Station Rehabilitation Program. The program initially
includes five (5) sanitary sewer pump stations: P.S. 513
Oceana West, P.S. 252 Pine Tree, P.S. 264 Thalia South, P.S.
345 Witchduck-Holiday, P.S. 547 Green Run. The program would
comprise a turnkey solution encompassing all disciplines,
design and construction, necessary to effect rehabilitation
of these aging facilities. Any party that may be interested
in submitting a competing proposal shall be required to do
so in accordance with the "City of Virginia Beach Procedures
Regarding Requests Made Pursuant to the Public Private
Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act of 2002 as
adopted by the Council of the City of Virginia Beach on June
24, 2003. Interested parties may contact Steve Motley, P.E.,
(757) 563-1446, to coordinate inspection of the sanitary
sewer pump stations. Competing proposals must be submitted
no later than 5:00 PM, Local Time, January 23, 2006 and
