Emily Francis O’Brion joined the Infrastructure and Economic Development team at McGuireWoods Consulting as research associate in May 2008. Prior to joining MWC, Emily gained valuable experience as a project manager of political affairs and grassroots advocacy for the American Hospital Association. In that capacity she coordinated and implemented the AHA’s grassroots programs and planned and organized congressional advocacy days and grassroots events.

Emily started her work in the public policy arena as a legislative intern for Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter. From there, she served as a legal assistant at the Washington, DC-based firm of Arnold & Porter before being promoted to a senior legal assistant position where she assisted in the development of legislative and policy strategies for clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and national security industries.
