Ronald L. Platt

Ron formerly served as a staff member for former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance and Secretary of Treasury Lloyd Bentsen (D-TX), and earlier to the former chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Congressman Jack Brooks (D-TX). During part of his time with Senator Bentsen, he simultaneously served on the staff of the Committee on Finance under Chairman/Ranking Member Senator Russell Long (D-LA). Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Ron was chief of staff to the late Lt. Governor of Virginia, J. Sargeant Reynolds. Initially after the leaving the Hill, he was senior vice president of corporate relations at Burger King Corporation. 

Ron was senior political advisor to the 1992 Clinton-Gore Presidential campaign; director, Democratic Coordinated Campaign for Iowa in 1996 (Clinton-Gore and Sen. Tom Harkin); political director, Nevada Democratic Coordinated Campaign, Senator Harry Reid, in 1998; and state director, Michigan for Gore-Lieberman in 2000.

Currently he focuses his practice on representing McGuireWoods Consulting's global network of clients on issues with a wide variety of both legislative and administrative agency matters. Working in government affairs since leaving Capitol Hill in 1981, he is involved in a diverse array of legislative and administrative matters including strategic planning, tax, healthcare and financial services policy.
