William G. Broaddus

A former Attorney General of Virginia, Mr. Broaddus focuses on commercial litigation. As a partner, Mr. Broaddus has coordinated or participated in a variety of disputes including federal and state constitutional, contract, commercial credit, public finance, libel, land use, employer-employee, product liability, government contracts and environmental. He has argued numerous cases in the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and two cases in the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Broaddus is a graduate of Washington & Lee University and the University of Virginia School of Law. Following law school, he served as Clerk to the Honorable Harry L. Carrico, now Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Mr. Broaddus is a member of the Judicial Council of Virginia, and he has been elected to the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is also a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation whose membership is limited to one percent of the active and associate membership of the Virginia State Bar and he is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. A recent survey conducted of Richmond lawyers named Mr. Broaddus as the region's leading attorney in the area of government and municipal law.
