Preston Bryant Appointed to National Academy of Sciences Advisory Committee
DELS is one of six National Academy of Sciences subject area divisions that work with the nation's top scientists, engineers, and health professionals to respond to requests for advice from the federal government, states, and some foundations. DELS-related research is conducted in such areas as agriculture, climate, homeland security, geosciences, life sciences, ecology, oceans, water, and nuclear and radiation studies. The division produces more than 60 reports each year.
The 19-member DELS advisory committee is comprised of experts from a variety of backgrounds: academia and think tanks, healthcare, business, politics, finance, defense, and religion, enabling the committee to bring an array of perspectives, experiences, and insights to the work of the division's subject matter experts.
Bryant will serve a three-year term on the advisory committee, beginning January 1, 2012.
