Stephanie Kennan Assists State of Oregon with Medicaid Waiver Issue
On May 3, CMS and Oregon announced that they reached an agreement in principle on a $1.9 billion program to create Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO) in the state's Medicaid program. Oregon estimates CCOs will save $11 billion over 10 years. Not only will the program save money, but it will provide better care for Oregon's Medicaid patients.
Gov. John Kitzhaber called the agreement a "defining moment for health care transformation."
Stephanie Kennan of McGuireWoods Consulting worked on behalf of the State with CMS, the Office of Management and Budget, the Oregon congressional delegation and outside organizations to help gain approval.
