Tax Policy Update: Extenders Markup Announced for Thursday, April 3
The Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR) has announced the committee will markup legislation addressing tax extenders this Thursday. Theofficial announcement is included below, and the Chairman's Mark can be viewed here. An estimate from the Joint Committee on Taxation can be viewed here. Additionally, the Chairman released marks containing technical corrections and changes to "deadwood" provisions. We will provide a summary of key provisions in the Chairman's Mark in a subsequent update.
The Chairman wishes to inform Members that the Committee on Finance will meet in Open Executive Session on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., in 215 Dirksen Senate Office Building, to consider an original bill entitled "Expiring Provisions Improvement Reform and Efficiency (EXPIRE) Act;" an original bill entitled "The Tax Technical Corrections Act of 2014" (The Tax Technical Corrections Act of 2014 includes both technical corrections and "deadwood" provisions, which are described separately in the attachments); and to fill vacancies on subcommittees, the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Congressional Oversight Group, and the Congressional Trade Advisors on Trade Policy and Negotiations.
The Chairman requests that 75 copies of each amendment be filed with the Committee Clerk in SD-219, no later than 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014.
