McGuireWoods Consulting Honored at Virginia Public Relations Awards for Client Work

On May 21, McGuireWoods Consulting accepted two honors for outstanding work at the 68th Virginia Public Relations Society of America Awards. MWC and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Summer Meals Program received the “Award of Excellence” in the public service category. In 2014, the team’s communications, marketing and direct outreach effort to promote a free meals program to underserved children Virginia, in partnership with the First Lady’s Office, resulted in a 1,400 percent increase in activity and increased awareness in high-need areas. MWC and the Virginia Hospital and Travel Association received the “Award of Merit” in the public affairs category. In 2014, a digital advocacy and stakeholder relations campaign successfully blocked a regressive food tax that had been proposed in Fairfax County, Virginia. MWC is proud of its contributions to these client successes. Congrats to Share Our Strength and VHTA on this well-deserved recognition!
