McGuireWoods Consulting vice president, Kaci Easley, worked with McGuireWoods LLP counsel, Ann Neil Cosby and senior land use planner, Adena Patterson to win final zoning approval from the city of Richmond and Henrico County for a mixed-use development project in Richmond, Virginia.

Named for one of Richmond’s largest rail yards, and located in the historic Greater Fulton area, Zimmer Development Company’s Fulton Yard is planned for a mix of 535 apartments and 106,000 square feet of retail and office space on 20 acres of land currently owned by CSX across from Rocketts Landing.

Zimmer sought a combination of residential and commercial zoning designations for the three parcels that make up the site along Old Osborne Turnpike (Route 5), Orleans Street and Nicholson Street so all three properties could be developed in a cohesive manner that satisfied both city and county long-range planning criteria.

Easley, Cosby and Patterson assisted Zimmer with the planning and rezoning of Fulton Yards, working with both the city of Richmond and Henrico County on zoning application requests.

Additional details on the project are included in an Oct. 17 article from Richmond BizSense.
