Stuart Wilkinson, Former Gov. Kemp Deputy Director, Joins McGuireWoods Consulting Atlanta Office

McGuireWoods Consulting is pleased to announce the addition of Stuart Wilkinson as vice president in its Atlanta, Georgia office. Wilkinson comes to McGuireWoods Consulting from the office of Gov. Brian Kemp, where he served as deputy director of external affairs, helping craft and advance the governor’s legislative agenda. Additionally, Wilkinson served as deputy director of the gubernatorial transition team, and before that, managed then Secretary of State Brian Kemp’s legislative and external affairs.

“We are delighted to have Stuart join our Georgia team,” said Rob Fortson, senior vice president and director of MWC’s Atlanta office. “He comes to us following a long history of public service as an official in Gov. Kemp’s administration, both as governor and secretary of state, as well as in Gov. Deal’s administration. His experience as an official at the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities will also enhance our healthcare practice specifically.”

Wilkinson began his career in Gov. Nathan Deal’s administration where he managed the local government relations program. He then joined the government relations staff of the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities serving under both Commissioner Frank Berry and Commissioner Judy Fitzgerald.

“Stuart strengthens an already outstanding MWC Georgia consulting team. He brings excellent experience from his public service, and is a well-respected figure in government and business circles in Georgia,” said McGuireWoods Consulting president, Gov. Jim Hodges. “Stuart will do great things at MWC.”
