McGuireWoods Consulting vice president, Kaci Easley, was recognized at a Feb. 6 reception as a 2020 Strong Men and Women in Virginia History honoree.
The Strong Men and Women in Virginia History program was inaugurated in January 2013 by the Library of Virginia and Dominion Energy, and celebrates the outstanding achievements of African Americans in Virginia history. The program honors distinguished Virginians, past and present, in observance of Black History Month, highlighting their important contributions to the state, nation or their profession.
Kaci Easley was the first African American to serve as director of Virginia’s Executive Mansion, and was inspired by examples of public service in her family.
“These men and women offer powerful examples of individuals who refused to be defined by their circumstances,” the program site notes. “Their biographies are a testament to the determination and perseverance displayed by extraordinary people during challenging times. These individuals demonstrate how African Americans have actively campaigned through education and advocacy for better lives for themselves and all Americans.”
