Susan Bowling, Graham Tew Join McGuireWoods Consulting’s South Carolina Team

McGuireWoods Consulting is proud to announce that Susan Bowling, former acting director and deputy director of the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and Graham Tew, veteran lobbyist and former senior executive assistant of legislative affairs for Gov. Carroll Campbell, have joined its team in The Palmetto State as senior vice presidents. Most recently, both Bowling and Tew practiced with Robert Kerr, who now serves as secretary of the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods Consulting, Bowling was a principal at Kerr & Company, Inc., serving clients in the government health sector. In addition to her experience working in the private sector, Bowling dedicated almost 30 years to public service in the areas of child welfare and health and human services. She formerly served as director of South Carolina’s Foster Care Review Board.

“Susan’s long career with healthcare agencies and in-depth experience with related regulatory and legislative issues will provide clients with a unique perspective that spans government relations, state budget, and healthcare policy,” said Billy Boan, senior vice president and director of McGuireWoods Consulting’s South Carolina team. “We are excited to have her onboard.”

Graham Tew brings a depth of private and public sector experience to McGuireWoods Consulting. Prior to serving under Gov. Campbell, Tew was the southern regional director of Vice President George W. Bush’s Political Action Committee and the Fund for America’s Future. He also served as director of legislative and public affairs for the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.

“Graham’s experience across industries complements our team well,” Boan said. "His solid reputation and proven track record speak for themselves. He’s a great addition to our team.”
