TRIANGLE BUSINESS JOURNAL: Developer behind big Triangle job announcements buys 200 acres in Sanford
A development group that has been part of some giant economic development projects in the Triangle sees an opportunity in Sanford. Helix Ventures, based in Raleigh, purchased 213.15 acres in Sanford for $7.155 million, according to three deeds filed Oct. 24.

WCNC: North Carolina charter schools continue to see record growth past pandemic boom
During the start of the pandemic, charter schools in the Carolinas saw a big jump in enrollment. A recent report by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools shows this enrollment continues to increase.

Durham Public Schools is set to receive an $18 million donation — entirely unrestricted — from Scott through the National Philanthropic Trust, the district announced Tuesday.

WECT: N.C. General Assembly allocates $15 million in grants for flood infrastructure improvements
North Carolina is taking some major steps to help improve infrastructure to battle flooding. Local leaders and the American Flood Coalition announced that the state is investing $15 million to help improve transportation resiliency. Hurricanes in the past several years, including Florence, showed the region how critical improving roadways is.

A new Meredith Poll of more than 1,000 North Carolina residents took the statewide temperature on attitudes about health insurance and reported Western N.C. residents are somewhat neutral or positive about their coverage.
THE NEWS & OBSERVER: Most NC nursing home staff, residents not up-to-date on COVID vaccines, despite high risk
Less than half of nursing home residents in North Carolina are up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines, according to the most recent AARP data from the end of October. An even smaller minority of nursing home staff— about 19% — have all the shots recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
