Ashley Allen joined McGuireWoods Consulting in 2010 and serves as a vice president of Grassroots Issue Management. Ashley's primary areas of service include traditional and e-advocacy grassroots mobilization, coalition development, public policy research and legislative services. Her current work includes healthcare and education policy, agricultural and natural resources matters and political giving strategies.
Prior to joining MWC, Ashley gained valuable experience working at the National Federation of Independent Business-Virginia, for the Chief Counsel to then Attorney General Bob McDonnell, and at the Virginia Hospitality and Travel Association. In those positions she worked closely on several state and federal issues including the regulation of small businesses; tax policies such as business taxes, estate taxes and travel occupancy taxes; health insurance options for businesses; the Employee Free Choice Act; the federal "Cap and Trade" legislation; and national healthcare reform legislation.
While earning her degree at the University of Richmond School of Law, Ashley served as president of the Student Bar Association. As an undergraduate, she received the VCU Emerging Leader Award in 2008 and the VCU Leader Award in 2009.
