BIO

Nadia serves as a senior vice president and leads the international government relations group. Her main responsibilities are to expand and promote McGuireWoods Consulting’s cross-border and international projects at all levels. In her role as a trusted advisor, she assists clients and investors across the globe, including Europe, South America, Asia and the Middle East.

She joined the McGuireWoods Consulting team in February 2007 to open the firm's office in Bucharest and transformed it into a successful operation and the leading firm in the region. Based on a combination of skills in government, diplomacy, international affairs and traditional and digital communications, Nadia focuses her practice primarily on strategic advice to global investors. She develops strategies to address the most complex executive, legislative, regulatory and diplomatic challenges.

Prior to joining the firm, Nadia served as a leading diplomat at the Embassy of Romania in Washington. In that capacity, she was responsible for promoting Romania's interests before the U.S. Senate, the National Security Council, the State Department, Treasury and the Commerce Department; strengthening relations with American investors and articulating the Romanian perspective on international trade and security to various Washington think tanks. Previously, she worked as a consultant for the International Olympic Truce Center of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as an associate producer for ABC News Nightline and as a program assistant for the International Center for Journalists. Nadia is also an accomplished journalist having worked for two newspapers and as a correspondent for the Romanian National Television. She has written extensively on foreign policy related to the United States, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

While earning her master's degree at Tufts University, Nadia served as teaching assistant to leading scholars for the executive education Global Masters of Arts Program (GMAP), editor-in-chief of the Fletcher Ledger and was honored as a recipient of the HB Earhart Fellowship. As an undergraduate, she was also a teaching assistant at Illinois State University with a focus on International Relations. Nadia is a native Spanish speaker and she studied and taught at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Taxco, Guerrero. She is also a native Romanian speaker and studied at Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
