Tom Cassidy is a senior vice president on McGuireWoods Consulting’s federal public affairs team and an attorney with McGuireWoods LLP. He focuses on infrastructure matters, handling federal lobbying and local government matters with Washington, D.C., and local government entities in the region.
He recently represented a national wastewater association on issues before Congress and the EPA and worked to expand funding opportunities for projects previously not covered by the EPA’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund. He also helped to secure the proper funding level for rural aircraft programs associated with the U.S. Postal Service.
In the municipal and local government area, Tom has significant experience representing trade associations and healthcare insurers before the District of Columbia’s Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking, and the Department of Health Care Finance. He has also represented interests before the D.C. City Council and advised local officials on election law issues.
Throughout his career, Tom has cultivated long-standing relationships with members of Washington’s business community and local government, and federal legislators and regulatory entities. His extensive experience working with stakeholders across industry sectors allows Tom to collaboratively and creatively resolve his client’s concerns with government action or inaction.
