Mariam joined McGuireWoods Consulting’s Washington, D.C. office in August 2018 as a research associate in the Federal Public Affairs group. In this role, she assists clients in a variety of industries with research and legislative monitoring.
Prior to joining MWC, Mariam served as a Fellow for the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC). During that time, she consulted with former U.S. House Representatives and Senators to address foreign economic and diplomatic concerns. She also led efforts on bipartisan caucus creation and assisted in the group’s civic engagement programs, domestically and internationally. Mariam has also served as a policy intern for Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI-12) on Capitol Hill, and, prior to that, with Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI-12).
Mariam graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia (UVA), with a degree in American government. During her time at UVA, Mariam interned at the University of Virginia Center for Politics and served as a research assistant for Dr. Larry J. Sabato, and conducted an independent study with Dr. Sabato in her final academic year.
