Tracy Morehead joined McGuireWoods Consulting in January 2019 in the Austin office. Possessing years of political experience and knowledge of the policymaking process, she assists clients with research projects, government relations, client stakeholder relations and legislative monitoring efforts.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods Consulting, Tracy served as Chief of Staff for Texas State Representative Charles “Doc” Anderson. In this capacity, she played a key role in Rep. Anderson’s consistent successful legislative passage rate, managed daily operations in his Capitol and district offices, handled committee work and legislation and maintained strong working relationships with local officials and associations. Additionally, she was responsible for drafting and monitoring legislation, speech writing and correspondence, constituent and state agency relations as well as scheduling for the office. She served as executive director of the Texas Legislative Rural Caucus for six years, focusing on the critical issues that affect the rural Texas.

Tracy understands the value and importance of giving back to her community, by helping those with physical and developmental disabilities through equine therapy. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University.
