Sarah Norman joined McGuireWoods Consulting in June 2018 as a research associate in the Austin office. In this role, she assists clients with research projects and monitoring legislative efforts. Sarah’s focus is broad, as she provides support to the entire Austin team.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods Consulting, Sarah served as a fundraising campaign consultant for clients on the local, state, and national levels. She has had the privilege of consulting on and raising money for presidential campaigns as well as nationally recognized political committees. Her experience planning events, managing PACs, and leveraging donor relationships uniquely positions her to deliver on client needs in her current capacity.
Before her time as a fundraiser, Sarah served as the Legislative Director to State Representative Larry Gonzales where she was responsible for drafting and monitoring legislation related to transportation, IT, appropriations, and government transparency as well as handling constituent and state agency relations. She maintains relationships with staff in numerous offices at the state Capitol, providing connections and inroads for clients.
Sarah is a former water quality analyst at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, one of the largest agencies in the state. In this role she took flora and fauna samples and performed effluent analyses for water discharge permit applications. Having experience in a technical role at an agency provides institutional knowledge to clients who have dealings with regulatory issues.
Sarah is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Investigative Science and served as Vice President of a student-led organization.
