Laura Puryear is an assistant vice president in the state government relations group in the Raleigh, North Carolina office. Laura assists clients with traditional advocacy, lobbying, and government relations services in matters before the North Carolina General Assembly and executive agencies.
Laura’s practice focuses on IT, procurement, finance, and economic development issues. She also has extensive experience working with various trade associations, coalitions, and non-profit organizations.
Prior to joining the firm, Laura worked as senior staff member and policy advisor to the Senior Finance Chairman and IT Appropriations Chairman of the North Carolina House of Representatives. In that position, she advised on policy, staffed numerous committees, helped craft legislation and policy agendas, managed constituent relations, and facilitated media relations efforts.
Laura also possesses substantial campaign experience having served in various supervisory roles in campaigns and advocacy efforts of all levels across North Carolina. She was responsible for the advancement of Republican candidates and conservative issues from the local to the federal level through grassroots organizing, strategic fundraising, message development, field coordination, crisis management, direct mail campaigns, digital communications, and earned and paid media.
